What ZTF Is

A tree planting movement driven and funded by you and I to secure fresh clean air for our lungs, cool shade for our fragile skin, food for the birds and the bees, mulch for the soil and beauty for our environment.

Fresh Air

As trees grow and consume air, they remove harmful pollutants from the air. Reforestation helps re-establish forest cover and improve our “natural air filter.”

Climate Mitigation

Planting trees helps sustain and increase the carbon sequestration potential of our forests, mitigating the effects of global climate change

Happy Animals

Trees makes the land more hospitable to animals by providing food and shelter and creating better connectivity to other forested areas.

The Plan

  1. Buy 4 trees for $10 from ZTF.
  2. Identify 4 perfect locations in need of a tree in your garden, street or neighborhood.
  3. Dig 4 holes which are half a meter deep and half a meter wide.
  4. Alternate mulch with soil using the soil you dug in 3, then plant the tree immediately.

The Benefit

  1. Cooler air in your environment.
  2. Cleaner air for your lungs.
  3. Food for the ecosystem.
  4. Improved water table for the city.

The Maintenance

  1. Water the tree on day of planting using a 10L or 20L bucket.
  2. Visit the planting site every 3 days for the 1st month.
  3. Make sure your tree is establishing and growing.
  4. Reduce visits to once a week for the next 5 months.

Climate Change

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth

Birds and Trees

Birds tend to respond well to reforestation and reforested areas will usually present similar bird richness to reference forest areas.
